Ok. I so we use some firefox extensions, those of our choice,
and thats great. But to tell you the truth i find a little annoying
not to know where did those 'hide' its configuration UI and the new
options interfering in the firefox menus.
I'm not saying an extension should not have a Settings UI or it's own
menus. Those are needed for sure and must be created somewhere, i just would
like to 'know' where to find them.
In the Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Roadmap you can find one of the goals:
- Enhancements to the Extensions system, Find Toolbar, Software Update, Search and other areas.
Yeah!, and i think i have an idea for this:
wouldn't it be real nice to the settings of all your extensions
all in one place.? It could be a tabbed interface or even
something like the regular Settings dialog with a 'page' for each
extension.
other options are:
Tools->Preferences->Extensions
.
-
Tools->Extensions
, and a Configure|Settings
option in the context menu.
This would ease extension management and help to cut down menu bloat.
and sure there are better ideas out there so... lets get into the Firefox 2.0 roadmap
